In Luke 6:46-49 it says,<\/p>\n
\u201cBut why do you call Me \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 and not do the things which I say?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWhoever comes to Me, and hear My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cHe is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the Rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the Rock. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cBut he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n In the above verses, Jesus tells us to be doers of His Word, not only hearers. Obeying God\u2019s Word and applying it in our daily lives are very important. Building a house on the rock is more difficult than building it on the sand — likewise, sometimes it will be hard to obey His word, such as loving our enemies. He won\u2019t tell us to do something that we can\u2019t do. We can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us!
